Roman Fever and Culver City Fever

Friday, May 18, 2018 at 8:00pm

Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 8:00pm

Are friendships in the 21st century really any different from those a hundred years ago? Greg Jones takes a look at a pair of  ‘ladies of a certain age’ and their younger counterparts in each era, in his new plays, Roman Fever and Culver City Fever.  Roman Fever, based on a short story by Edith Wharton, set in the 1920’s, reunites two old friends, each of whom has a secret that has significant impact on the other’s life. Culver City Fever, set in the present, introduces the audience to two contemporary women in very different circumstances than the ladies visiting Rome, but not so different in their personalities and their relationship with one another. The subtleties and formalities of the first are replaced with high comic modern skepticism in the second, making for an exciting and diverse evening of theatre. Get in on the development of these new works. Following the staged readings, Greg will be looking for comments and suggestions from the audience. Join us for this Studio Series production and stay to be part of the process!

Tickets: $12 for adults; $10 for Seniors; $8 for students.

Test your Broadway knowledge in an exciting trivia game; there will also be games of chance during the evening’s festivities.  In addition to the live music by the dance floor, there will be a number of other live performances, which include a sneak-peek at our summer musical, Kiss Me Kate and cabaret pieces from our local interns. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres will be served throughout the evening, and there will be specialty drinks available at our cash bar.
