Good intentions. Bad decisions. Great fun. In Larissa Fast Horse’s satirical comedy The Thanksgiving Play, a troupe of really well-meaning theater artists dream of creating something revolutionary: a culturally sensitive, totally inoffensive Thanksgiving school pageant that finally gives a voice to Native Americans. Finding said Native Americans... isn’t so simple. And that’s when things start to get absurd. Sending up a whole feast of social issues, this bitingly funny play roasts everything right, wrong, and woke in America.

Over The River And Through The Woods

by Joe DiPietro

Performances

Friday, February 7, 2025 at 7:00pm

Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 7:00pm

Nick Cristano may be living the life of a modern young professional in New York City, but his loving grandparents never let him forget where he belongs: in New Jersey, in the bosom of his tenacious, tender-hearted, loud, loving, and well-fed Italian-American grandparents, who live two doors down from each other in Hoboken, and who lavish all of their affection on their last unmarried grandchild. Faithfully, Nick goes “over the river” to Grandma’s house every week for Sunday dinner. When he is offered an important promotion in Seattle, Washington, Nick threatens to break this routine by a distance of some 2,800 miles! Frank, Aida, Emma, and Nunzio are heartbroken at the prospect of their beloved grandson raising a family all the way across the country -- or worse, not raising a family at all! Besides the usual tactics of emotional blackmail, in order to keep him safe at home, these wily elders cook up a matchmaking scheme, inviting lovely nurse Caitlin O’Hare over for Sunday dinner. Will the prospect of true love keep Nick from moving across the country?

The Case of the Great Wachapreague

 BINGO Brawl!

written by Gordon Vincent

Who knew Bingo was a contact sport?  In all the years of the Wachapreague Carnival, there’s never been a night like this one!  When some very serious Bingo players, many of whom we all recognize, disagree about who wins the Super Jackpot, chaos ensues! And you thought timing in the Olympics was precise…they’ve got nothing on the Bingo rules!  And just like the Olympics, there’s bound to be an appeal… which may lead to more chaos! All the while, the audience is playing five rounds of fairly peaceful Bingo, with some great prizes for the winners. As they say on Law & Order, “although inspired in part by a true incident, the following story is fictional and does not depict any actual person or event.” But this one was written by someone  who’s seen it all….

The triumphant true story of America’s Favorite Sex Therapist! Dr. Ruth K. Westheimer changed the way we talk about sex and relationships with her hit '80s radio call-in show, Sexually Speaking. Now, she welcomes us into her home to share the unlikely path she took to becoming “Dr. Ruth.” With her trademark wry humor, warmth, and candor, Dr. Ruth recounts her life’s many roles: a child escaping Nazi Germany on the Kindertransport; an Israeli sharpshooter in the 1940s; a single mother in America; and finally, the global celebrity sought out by presidents. This life-affirming solo show is a testament to resilience, forging your own path, and the joy of human connection.

In the 1590s, brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom are desperate to write a hit play but are stuck in the shadow of that Renaissance rock star known as "The Bard." When a local soothsayer foretells that the future of theatre involves singing, dancing and acting at the same time, Nick and Nigel set out to write the world’s very first musical. But amidst the scandalous excitement of opening night, the Bottom Brothers realize that reaching the top means being true to thine own self, and all that jazz.
