class descriptions:

Acting for T. V.

Acting for T.V. is an  8 week television scene study class. Each acting technique Stella Adler, The Sanford Meisner, Lee Strasberg, Uta Hagen, Chekhov, & the Stanislavsky Technique have their strengths and weaknesses. Ginny combines the various techniques helping actors pull from what they connect with. Actors will be paired together to rehearse a T.V. scene together each week then they will perform it. After the actors performance, the actors will work on their scene with Ginny. At the end of the workshop, a special performance will be held for friends and family. Adult and kids classes available.

Improvisation

Improvisations teaches us to heighten our awareness in acting.

This form of live theatre in which the plot, characters and dialogue of a game, scene or story are made up in the moment. Each week of this 6 week workshop actors will learn the value of “yes” and the strength of thinking on your feet. This class revolves around silliness and fun. And not only is it good for actors, it also is a confidence builder for anyone! Adult and kids classes available.

 Cabaret

A singing performance class to learn the art of New York cabaret performance. Each student will choose a song each week to bring in and be worked on. We will find subtext, truth, and expansion in each song. The art of storytelling is the key and each student will discover that. At the end of this 6 week course a performance will be held. Adult and kids classes available.

Scene Study

Each time this 5 week class is taught, students will work on scenes from a play. Each scene will be dissected and played with. Students will discover how to find different takes on the characters. How can YOU play the part uniquely? What will make YOU stand out at an audition? Classes available for adults and kids.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is the psychological process of bringing one's attention to experiences occurring in the present moment, which one can develop through the practice of meditation, exercises, and breathing techniques. It helps with stress related issues, anxiety, PTSD, focus, peace, kindness, gratitude, happiness...

It is truly a life changer for children and adults. This is a 6 week workshop.

Laughter Yoga

Laughter Yoga helps bring more laughter and joy into your life. Anyone can laugh for no reason without relying on humor, jokes or comedy AND will feel the benefits on the very first session! Initiating laughter as a body exercise in a group with eye contact and childlike playfulness, it soon turns into real and contagious laughter. It oxygenates Your Body and Brain and convinces both you are happy.  Laughter Yoga is combination of deep breathing exercises, yoga and laughter exercises. You will leave this class feeling great!

The concept of Laughter Yoga is based on a scientific fact that the body cannot differentiate between fake and real laughter. One gets the same physiological and psychological benefits.

This is a 5 week class that can be ongoing.
